Cardston Elementary School will be hosting a Canada 150 event funded by the Government of Canada. A cultural celebration will be held at the school on September 21st. Parents and guests are invited to attend the event with their children.
CES has a diverse school population and we encourage our staff and students to be respectful of others and their culture. Students will have the opportunity to listen to former CES student, Levi Stanford, a performer and motivational speaker. He will share his story about doing your best, even when things get tough.
We will celebrate a rich cultural event with parents and students for the remainder of the school day. In addition to the assembly, interactive sessions will be provided for students as they participate and learn about Blackfoot culture. Students will be involved in hands on learning as they are guided by respected Elders and experts from the Blood Tribe and Blackfoot community. Activities will be centered around language, song, dress, dance, music and stories of the great nation. It will feature local Blackfoot performers, including students from our school.
A free lunch of Indian tacos, Saskatoon soup and herbal mint tea will be served.
We invite parents to attend this special Canada 150 event with their children beginning at 10:45.
